An arbitrator may be removed from office only if circumstances exist that give rise to justifiable doubts as to the arbitrator's impartiality or independence. A party may apply to the arbitral tribunal to remove an arbitrator on the grounds of lack of impartiality or independence. The arbitral tribunal shall hear the party making the application and any other party concerned, and shall decide on the application. The arbitral tribunal may also, on its own initiative, consider whether there are any grounds for removing an arbitrator. The arbitral tribunal shall decide on the application within thirty days from the date of the application. The decision of the arbitral tribunal on the application shall be final and binding on the parties.
