Statutory Content of Section 29

Section 29 of the Sale of Goods Act, 1930, states: 'The usage of trade applicable to a particular trade or business (unless such usage be unreasonable) shall be implied by the court in the construction of a contract relating to goods of that trade or business'. This section recognizes the role of trade usage in interpreting contracts, implying that courts will consider customary practices in a trade when construing contractual terms, as long as the usage is reasonable.
