Statutory Content of Section 103

The right of private defence of property extends to causing death, if the offence which occasions the exercise of the right is such that the person exercising the right would be entitled to cause death in its defence under Section 102, or if, in the exercise of the right of private defence of property, any person attempts to cause death or grievous hurt, or endeavours to restrain or satiate his appetite upon, or to destroy, any valuable property belonging to the person exercising the right, or attempts by means of criminal force to take any valuable property from the person exercising the right, or attempts to take any valuable property in his possession, or attempts to take any valuable property from the person exercising the right, and the person exercising the right has reason to believe that the person so attempting has the intention to kill or to cause grievous hurt, or that the person so attempting is so desperate and enraged as to render his intentions uncertain.
