Statutory Content of Section 139

According to Section 139 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, 'the consideration must be of some value, though it may be of little value.' The consideration must be of some value, though it may be of little value. The Supreme Court in the case of M/s. Shakti Bhog Foods Ltd. v. Kola VC, (2005) 1 SCC 631, held that the consideration must be real and not illusory.
