What does Section 50 of Registration Act, 1908 say?

Where any document required to be registered under section 17 is presented for registration after the expiry of the period prescribed for its registration, and the party presenting the document has reason to believe that the document has been lost or destroyed, and the party has obtained a certified copy of the document, and the document is a will, the registrar shall, on payment of the fee prescribed, register the document and shall enter a note on the margin of the document, stating the date of its registration and the volume and page numbers of the register in which it is registered.
