Where the maker of a cheque has placed his signature on the cheque, and the cheque bears the name of the payee, the burden of proving that the signature is not genuine or that the name of the payee is not correct, shall be on the drawer. The cheque shall be presumed to have been drawn on the date which it bears, unless the contrary is proved.
