Section 210 of the Indian Succession Act, 1925, provides that the other relatives of a person who dies intestate shall be entitled to a share of the property. The section reads: "The other relatives of the intestate shall be entitled to a share of the property, which shall be distributed among them in the following manner: (a) the brothers and sisters of the intestate shall take equally, (b) the nieces and nephews of the intestate shall take equally, and (c) the other relatives of the intestate shall take equally." This section applies to all persons who die intestate, and have other relatives. The share of the other relatives is based on the rules of succession provided in the Act, which take into account the degree of relationship between the deceased and the claimants. The key judicial interpretation of this section is that the other relatives take the property in the order specified in the section.
