धारा 21

The words 'public servant' denote a person falling under any of the descriptions hereinafter enumerated namely: Every member of a Civil Service Tribunal or Court; Every juryman, assessor, or member of a panchayat or local board; Every officer of a Court of Justice whose duties involve the collection of revenue or the administration of justice; Every officer of the Government whose duties involve the keeping of accounts or the collection or payment of revenue, or the custody or management of property, or the execution of contracts, or the payment of bills or the discharge of other pecuniary duties, or the collection of the revenue, or the administration of justice; Every officer whose duty it is as such officer to take, receive, keep or expend any property on behalf of the Government, or to make any survey, assessment or valuation, or to execute any revenue process, or to administer any law for the time being in force, or to discharge any duty imposed on the Government by any law for the time being in force; Every judge, magistrate, and every person exercising judicial or magisterial functions; Every person authorized by law to perform any public duty; Every officer of Government whose duty involves the administration of justice or the keeping of accounts or the collection or payment of revenue; Every person in the service or pay of the Government or remunerated by fees or commission for the performance of any public duty.
