The Central Government may remove from office the Chief Commissioner or any other Commissioner if they are adjudged an insolvent, or have been convicted of an offence which, in the opinion of the Central Government, involves moral turpitude, or have become physically or mentally incapable of acting as a Chief Commissioner or Commissioner. As per Section 54 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, 'The Central Government may remove from office the Chief Commissioner or any other Commissioner if they are adjudged an insolvent, or have been convicted of an offence which, in the opinion of the Central Government, involves moral turpitude, or have become physically or mentally incapable of acting as a Chief Commissioner or Commissioner.' The Central Government may also remove the Chief Commissioner or any other Commissioner if they have acquired such financial or other interest as is likely to affect prejudicially their functions as a Chief Commissioner or Commissioner.
