Statutory Content of Section 423

If, at any time, the Central Government is of the opinion— (a) that on account of circumstances existing in any State or part of a State, it is necessary or expedient so to do in the public interest; or (b) that a company is being wound up and it is necessary or expedient so to do in the public interest, the Central Government may, by order, supersede the Regional Director for that State or part of a State, as the case may be, for such period, not exceeding six months, as may be specified in the order.
