If, at any time, the Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient in the public interest so to do, it may, by order, supersede the Regional Director for a period not exceeding six months, and, during such period, the Central Government may, subject to such conditions and limitations as it may specify, exercise the powers of the Regional Director.
