धारा 248

If, at any time, the Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do in the public interest, it may, by order, supersede the Regional Director for such period, not exceeding six months, as may be specified in the order, and the Regional Director shall, as soon as may be, after the receipt of the order, hand over his powers and functions to the person appointed by the Central Government in this behalf.
