Section 2

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "Act" means the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008; (b) "appointed day" means the date on which this Act comes into force; (c) "designated partner" means a partner designated as such in accordance with the provisions of this Act; (d) "limited liability partnership" means a partnership formed and registered under this Act; (e) "limited liability partnership agreement" means the agreement of limited liability partnership as provided in sub-section (1) of section 24; (f) "partner" means a person who has been admitted as a partner in a limited liability partnership in accordance with the provisions of this Act; (g) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act; (h) "registered office" means the principal office of a limited liability partnership at which the business of the limited liability partnership is to be carried on or managed and where the records required to be kept under this Act are kept; (i) "Registrar" means the Registrar of Companies for the time being appointed under this Act; (j) "State Government" means the State Government of the State in which the registered office of the limited liability partnership is situated.
