What does Section 94 of Contract Act say?

Section 94 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, deals with the effect of contingent contracts. According to this section, contingent contracts are enforceable, unless the event on which they are contingent has happened and become impossible. The actual statutory language is: 'Contingent contracts to do or not to do anything, if an uncertain future event happens, cannot be enforced by law unless and until that event has happened. If the event becomes impossible, such contracts may be enforced.' Judicial interpretations have clarified that for a contract to be considered contingent, the event must be uncertain at the time of making the contract. The Supreme Court has also held that if the event on which the contract is contingent becomes impossible, the contract can be enforced.
