What does Section 9 of Contract Act say?

Promises may be express or implied. An express promise is one which is made in words, either spoken or written. An implied promise is one which is inferred from the circumstances of the case. Every promise is an agreement, but every agreement is not a promise. The Indian Contract Act, 1872 recognizes both express and implied promises as valid promises.
