What does Section 57 of CPA say?

The Central Consumer Protection Authority shall perform the following functions, namely: (a) inquiring into complaints regarding violation of consumer rights or unfair trade practices; (b) passing orders to prevent unfair trade practices; (c) issuing notices to persons against whom a complaint has been made or to persons who have been accused of indulging in unfair trade practices; (d) recalling goods or services which are hazardous or unsafe; (e) ordering reimbursement of the price of goods or services; (f) imposing penalties. As per Section 57 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, 'The Central Consumer Protection Authority shall perform the following functions, namely: (a) inquiring into complaints regarding violation of consumer rights or unfair trade practices; (b) passing orders to prevent unfair trade practices; (c) issuing notices to persons against whom a complaint has been made or to persons who have been accused of indulging in unfair trade practices; (d) recalling goods or services which are hazardous or unsafe; (e) ordering reimbursement of the price of goods or services; (f) imposing penalties.'
