1(1) This Act may be called the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.2In this Sanhita, unless the context otherwise requires,––3(1) Throughout this Sanhita every definition of an offence, every penal provision,4The punishments to which offenders are liable under the provisions of this Sanhita5The appropriate Government may, without the consent of the offender, commute6In calculating fractions of to82(1) Whoever, having a husband or wife living, marries in any case in which such83Whoever, dishonestly or with a fraudulent intention, goes through the ceremony84Whoever takes or entices away any woman who is and whom he knows or has85Whoever, being the husband or the relative of the husband of a woman, subjects86For the purposes of section 85, “cruelty” means—87Whoever kidnaps or abducts any
